In most countries drinking and driving is banned from what I see here it more or less compulsory. No one knows how many get killed and injured but it must be near the top of any list. The police have a "tea money" fund you really can buy your way out of trouble here. In most countries when you travel any distance by road its rare to see a RTA here its rare not to. I have seen many deaths and even more serious injuries on the roads and yes I do drive, its mostly motorbikes involved.

I heard that in Thailand nobody is allowed to drink but many people do it, and the police does not do anything to stop that habit. Is it true? If yes, it is so strange to me. Here, in Hungary there is "zero tolerance", which means if an officer recognizes that you drunk any amount of an alcohol(doesnt matter if it is just a mouthful of beer or a whole bottle of whiskey), your licence must be withdrawn.

Simple reason people don't get involved here is because if you do your in the frame for causing it. I live here in Thailand so if you see an accident and I have seen plenty, mostly drunk drivers you just drive drive on. I know it sounds awful but that's what you do.As for walking thats not reccomended.

I've heard that Thailand is a beautifull place to visit, but It looks like it's much safer to walk there.
