I go to Khonkaen a couple of times a year and so far I have only seen one foreigner but I am told there are many. But it shouldn't matter, there are many Thai and other Asians here in my city in Australia and I love being multi cultural and how we all get on so well. But I do agree, at times in Bangkok or especially Southern Thailand there are so many ferang and western shops it does take away a lot of the charm.

I was there in early 2005 and enjoyed it because it was a very "pure" Thai city. But I hear now it has changed a lot with many foreigners wandering around. Lost some of its charm perhaps?

I agree. I've been there about 5x. Do yourself a favor and don't go to Pattaya. It is decrepit. I too love Thailand for nonsexual reasons. Never did anything bad there. Take care!

You should research first Tata996 and you would see why I wrote this song. Like most westerners I go to Thailand because I love the Thai people, the culture and the religion. I have travelled around most of Thailand but never been to Pattaya because I do not go for this reason. The sex industry in Thailand is small considering the population is 62 million and every country has this is you look for it. I happened to fall in love with Khonkaen as it is an amazing, beautiful and friendly city.

Thanks for your kind comment. I would suggest looking up the schools on the net and talking direct, they would know what is required with the visa and would have the information you need. Australia has an exchange program with Thailand but I do not know about other countries, best to look at your countries government web link to this.I wish you success, Thailand is a beautiful country.Baz
